Women's Angelfish Slip-On Boat Shoe.
Not a typical review poster!
First & for most I have never written a review on a shoe purchase ever, however these shoes deserve the gratitude!
Initially I shopped around at numerous Journey stores with no luck finding a "new" ( un-treated; stores often treat the leather to prevent scuffing which can happen when customers are careless with the shoes while trying them on, which results typically results in a darker leather. This is my own observation but soon clarified while shopping around for my pair of women's plaid Angelfish boots ) pair of the Sperry's I had my mind set on. Ultimately I ended up going to the Sperry website because I assumed them to be delivered brand new! Not only did I receive a brand new untreated nor tried on pair of adorable shoes, I also got them at a CHEAPER price than the stores I shopped at for them!
I ordered size 8M although I am at least a 8.5 usually and received them 5 days later. Upon opening my shoes i was a bit iffy about the looks/style ( along with the people i was with ) of the "boat boots" I had just hunted down to find. Once I tried them on with no socks & on a pair of capris I fell in love! ( Yoga capris look adorable with them too ) These shoes are so comfortable & I have yet to get blisters or twisted laces much like the other reviewers comments I read.
If one is skeptical- dont be ! I was and am so glad I purchased these! So glad I just bought my second pair!

The shoe strings/cords turn and dig into the sides of my feet
This is the first review that I have EVER written but I feel that I paid too much for the shoes to hurt!! I LOVED the shoes when I tried them on in the store. They were VERY comfortable and stylish (purchased the Zebra Patent Leather). The problem is with the strings/cords that run along the sides of the shoes. They turn on the inside of the shoes. When they turn, the strings/cords dig into the sides of my feet (where they come through the string eyelets a little below the big and little toes). It is TERRIBLY painful!! I am very disappointed. The shoes look wonderful but the pain of those cords caused me to write this review!! If anyone has a trick to keeping the cords from turning inside, please include it in your review. Thanks.

I absolutely love these shoes I have at least had 20 people compliment me on them today itself i do wear mine with socks so I ordered my normal size but I know if you don't want to wear them with socks you should order them a half size down I am a size 5 and I ordered a size five and it fits perfectly and gave me no blisters I love everything about this shoe

Shoe that is durable and has great quality
I was reading reviews on how Sperry shoes normally fit, and I read somewhere that you should buy a half size down from your normal street shoe size if you want to wear these without socks, otherwise you blister. So, I went to the nearest Sperry shoe store and tried on a pair to see if this was actually true. I'm normally a 6.5 in street shoes, so I tried on a 6.0 at the Sperry store, and they did fit really comfortably. Then, I went back home and ordered a pair of these online (a different color), since they didn't have the ones I wanted at the Sperry store.
When the shoes finally came, I tried them on, and they were definitely very tight. I expected this, since they were a new pair of shoes, and the ones I had tried on at the store were probably already broken in. So, I definitely recommend preparing your feet for some discomfort before you finally break them in. I've worn them more now, and even though they aren't completely broken in yet, they've already gotten more comfortable. I'm really happy with the quality of the shoe because they feel very durable. I hope I get to wear these for walking all over the place for a long time.
